What are Specialists

Specialists are AI agents with focused expertise. They live in your workspace and can join conversations when you mention them. Each one is tuned for a job such as frontend development, quality assurance, product planning, documentation, analytics, or workflow automation.

Specialists Marketplace

Open Specialists from the app rail. The marketplace lets you search, browse, and add specialists to your workspace.

The marketplace includes:

  • Platform Suites. Managed specialist collections with shared setup and branding.
  • Bundled Specialists. Built-in specialists maintained by The AI Platform or trusted publishers.
  • Search. Filter specialists by name or description.
  • Quality signal filter. Narrow the list by available quality information.

Specialist Cards

Specialist cards show the information you need before opening the detail page:

  • specialist name
  • publisher
  • short description
  • available tool connection status
  • Add or Add All actions when the specialist or suite is available

Click a card to open its detail page before adding it.

Specialist Detail Page

The detail page explains what a specialist does, what it needs, and how it is configured.

A detail page can include:

  • Header actions such as Add, remove, or the three-dot menu.
  • Created by, version, last updated, and network metadata.
  • Tool connection status when optional tools are available.
  • Quality Signals such as metric sharing and disaggregation data.
  • Capabilities and Tech Stack badges.
  • Additional setup, knowledge, workflow, and model sections when available.

Adding and Removing Specialists

Click Add on a specialist card or detail page to add it to the workspace. After a specialist is added, it becomes available to mention from chat with @.

Removing a specialist from the workspace makes it unavailable for new mentions, but it does not delete historical messages where the specialist already responded.

Platform Suites

A platform suite groups related specialists from the same publisher. Use Add All when you want the full suite available in your workspace. Use an individual specialist card when you only need one role.

Built-in and Custom Specialists

Built-in specialists are maintained by The AI Platform or trusted publishers and are available from the marketplace.

Custom specialists are created in your workspace using the specialist builder. Use custom specialists when your team needs a role, domain, tool set, or writing style that is specific to your work.
